How does the Vulcan 1600 compare to the 1600 Nomad. Are their drivetrains identical? If so, it would seem that the 1600 Classic would give better performance at a lesser price.

The drivetrain is identical. And of course you'll get more performance out the Classic because it weights less. But with lesser price you get less accessories. I prefer dresser bikes.

I believe the drivetrains are identical, and the 1600 weighs about 50 pounds less; that alone will improve the performance of the 1600 Classic. However, the Nomad is a well-respected touring bike and set up that way.

Sorry, the weight difference is 97 pounds, not as I stated below. Also, the Nomad hs a touring suspension (air assisted rear shocks) for a smoother ride. I have read GREAT things about both bikes. Depends on whether you want a cruiser or a tourer. Hope this helps.
