| | Has anyone else had a problem with the Check Engine light going on/off when the heated handgrips are on high, and the headlights are on? Anyone have their dealer fix it if so? |

| I bought the Browning edition 500 in October and have had it in twice for that problem and twice for the fuel gage not working. It appears they fixed the fuel gage (but I thought they fixed it the first time also) but the check engine light apparently is not fixable as of yet, Polaris is supposed to be working on a fix. My warranty is up in a couple months, I suspect Polaris will do nothing about this problem. Polaris has made no attemp to contact the owners of these machines to advise them of the course of action to rectify the situation. A NOTE TO THE PEOPLE THINKING ABOUT BUYING A POLARIS, THERE IS A REASON WHY POLARIS ONLY OFFERS A 6 MONTH WARRANTY...STAY AWAY AND DON'T BE AS STUPID AS I WAS...8500.00 WASTED.

| | The dealer actually fixed this for me as a manufacturer defect. What they found was that the ground wire they use for the electrical system in these 500's with the heated grips/thumb/winch/headlights is too small. They were getting feedback on the ground when all the accessories were running. They fixed it by splicing into the existing ground and grounding it to a second location. That seemed to have fixed it for me. I have been pushing snow with it all winter long now after the fix and it hasn't reoccured. Aside from that small glitch, this has been an EXCELLENT bike and I have no feelings that I wasted my money. I would highly recommend a POLARIS. |
