| hi, i live in bradford, me. and my commute to bangor is 25 miles each way. my current vehicle is a ford f-150 which averages 14 miles per gal. considering the soaring gas prices, i was wondering if a 2006 yamaha vino 125 could tolerate the commute? the road to town is fairly flat and posted at 45 mph. by the way, what is the real world milage of the vino 125? thanks. joe

| Hi Joe,
I live in WI and commute 6 mi each way with my '04 Vino125. You could do the 25 mi each way at 25mph easily. I can do up to 55 mph easily and can get abt 60-65 mpg.

| Hi Joe,
I meant to say will easily do 45mph. Also would recommend a windshield to help deflect wind for less resistence and comfort.

| I commute 18 km (12 miles) each way (1/2 an hour minimum) in heavy traffic. The Vino 125 is up to it, but I find that I am the weak link. It is very draining physically and mentally as it does require much more concentration, guts and back strength than sitting in a cozy car. It took a full week of driving to get used to this. If you buy new, you will need to break it in - which means that going flat out at 45 mph is not recommended. I can't imagine what you will feel like after 1 week of driving 25 miles each way. Bottom line - have a backup plan!
Real world mileage: ~111km (69 miles) per tank (two very easy numbers to remember) during break-in - constantly varying the throttle position. I hope my mileage gets better than that once I am out of the break-in period.

| Hey Joe, I just read your post. I think if your going to buy this scooter or any other, do not buy anything smaller than the 125cc. It will easily go 50 mph.It should get 78-80 mpg. I traveled 14 miles a day to work on my 1972 Yamaha LS2 100 cc 2 stroke. It cost me $54.00 for the entire summer! Nice aye? If you haven't bought one yet, feel free to contact me and I will answer your questions.
