I have a new 500 EFI and am having problems with it missing, and not starting, and backfiring. Sometines it will start and run for about 30 feet and die. My dealer has blamed high octane gas, bubbles in the fuel line, and possibly a fouled spark plug. Any suggestions on the real problem?

Just got my 500 HO Carb back from the shop. Turned out that it was the air intake tube on the top of the airfilter box. That got changed and it runs great now. It was starving for air.
Hope that helps.

We found it.. there is two sensors under the seat that is shortening out... that is my understanding from the service deparment.. Take it back in and make sure the warrany will take care of it...

I have same problem and so does my dad. Dealer is working with Polaris. So far no fix. They put in new sensors and problem came back. My dads backfired after new sensors and blew the intake to fuel injection completely off! Yes it literally exploded!!! Dealer is standing the work and parts. Dads warrenty is out but dealer doing what they can. Mine is in the shop and dealer and Polaris are stumped. If you find the cure please send E-Mail sincerley, Frustrated Rick

I had this same issue , after talking with the dealer he told me to adjust the throttle cable and now it is just fine. there is a auto shut off feature so when the throttle cable breaks it shutts off the engine.
