I am learning how to ride a motorcycle. I have signed up for a motorcycle safety course in Sept. 05. I am bidding on several different motorcycles on ebay. My question is: what is the best motorcycle for women? I have "slightly" driven a harley sportster, and it seems very heavy and the clutch it tight. Are all motorcycles like this, or should I be looking at another brand of motorcycle? Thanks, Kristi

The best motorcycle for women is the one that fits you, doesn't make you tense or over-reach the grips or the ground. It's the one that feels right and that you love. No differant than for men. You'll get used to the clutch.

Glad to hear your investing in a safety course. It's money well spent.

I bought my 1st Harley last year, 2005 XL883C; right after I took the Bikers Safety Course. It may be heavier for you now, but the other Harleys are much heavier. Me personally, wouldnt purchase something so personal as a bike on e-bay. You need to sit on it, feel it, and you'll know, as they say with a wedding dress, you will just know when you put the right one on. Good luck in class, its a great learning tool.

Congrats on signing up for the motorcycle safety course. That's a good idea.
I agree with a previous comment - and would recommend sitting on the bikes at a dealership, rather than buying on e-bay.
The clutch on the Sportsters after 2006 have been re-designed to require less effort.
I hope you get (or have gotten) a bike that you really like. Ride safe!
