| I heard that the V-Rod is not selling very good, the dealers in my area all have some to sell yet.One dealer has 7 of them and is offering $1000.00 off list! Is this going to be a lame duck bike? I also heard Harley has stopped production of the V-Rod pending sales.

| | You're right, the V-Rod IS NOT selling well, I lost $6,700 re-selling mine and was a fool to buy it. I can say, because I've owned one: DO NOT buy a German-Engineered V-Rod! They, quite simply, suck! No torque, no durability of the frame finish, dull-ass silver color, NO RESALE value; worse than a Japanese bike! And I'm a die-hard HD fan! I've owned 9 of 'em in 13 years. Kelley Blue Book says $12K is what a 2002 V-Rod is worth. I hope Harley does quit making this "New Coke" Harley. Real HD lovers dislike it, and kids can't afford even a $15K sportbike. Harley, get rid of this cross-dressing imposter! |

| The dealer offering a discount is in the north woods and can't have many customers. V-Rod production is going strong at Kansas City. HD is getting ready for the anniv bash and the 2004 model intro. I am on a 2003 V-rod and you couldn't give me a different bike. I have run around the midwest, and out west with NO complaints. Anyone who doesn't like the ride, doesn't know how to ride a fast bike. You don't need to shift every 50 feet like a Fathead. Power is at the top of the RPM's!

| I've owned and ridden Harleys for over 20 years, from Sportsters to Dressers, and now a V-Rod. The V-Rod is simply the most awesome, fun-to-ride, factory-built bike I have ever ridden.
To the guy who lost $6,700 re-selling his V-Rod, and said they suck: You said it best when you said you were a fool. Enough said -- you ARE a fool.
Whether dealers can sell them or not, or whether they have strong resale value or not, I really don't care. Why? Because I'm not planning to sell mine.
See ya... (shrinking in my rear view mirror)

| | The initial demand for the V-Rod was fueled partially by first-time Harley buyers, coming from other brands. For the traditional Harley owners, it takes a bit longer for them to warm up to a new model. The same ones who complain about a water-cooled Harley are the ones who complained about the Evolution engine because it wasn't a Panhead! I ride on a regular basis with about 50-60 other Harley owners and, while I'm the only V-Rod in the group and most prefer their models, they've had nothing but good things to say about the V-Rod. I believe that in time, demand will come from the mainstream Harley community and the V-Rod values will bounce back in line with other Harleys. Another problem was greedy dealers marking up V-Rods from $3k-$10k over MSRP. If you bought at those prices, expect to lose, compared to those of us who paid MSRP. As for the "fool" who recommends against buying a V-Rod, I say that if everyone were to follow one opinion, Harley wouldn't need to make 26 different models! I bought my V-Rod, NOT to make money on selling it, NOT to impress anyone, NOT to conform to anyone's opinion, but for one reason only: To RIDE! I have over 14,000 miles on mine, I ride it every single day and it's the best bike I've owned, including several Harleys (Deuce and Dyna Wide Glide the most recent). |

| | Simple, this bike is for younger, or older wiser riders. They sell all they can get in Seattle, WA. Most people see too many old biker movies. This bike is just plain FUN and easy to ride. |

| 2006 night rod. 5th harley, maybee 13th bike. took time to warm up to the bike. does not feel or sound very harley. but it does handle better and has alot of power. built better. design is better. if its not for you dont buy it I mean harley sells other bikes. sales are probably slower than expected cause its a big change. ive always heard that harley needs to build a better bike and ive seen upside down harley stickers on trucks and all that. now they build a superior machine and instead of saying wow they finally listened, harley guys are saying dont buy that lol.
