I need this info too. I was at a party over the weekend and my nephew drove up on a brand spankin' new Yamaha R1. My uncle proceeded to tell him that a guy on a V-Rod was coming to the party and would blow his doors off. He said that the V-Rood was capable of doing 178 out of the crate. Can you believe it? 178!!! Since the speedo only goes up to 150, and the V-Rod is pushing around almost 600 lbs with 115 horses, I know that's impossible, but my uncle wouldn't listen. Help me, I need proof! What are the 1/4 mile, HP ratings and top speeds of the V-Rod? Official, or semi-official numbers would help.
Thanks, guys!

Steve

With the 28 tooth front sprocket, started in 2004, your top speed is around 142-145 mph at the redline of 9000 rpm. The rev-limiter kicks in before that around 8200 - 8500 rpm. She gets there in a hurry. I've heard the Screaming Eagle V-rod will do 10.8 sec 1/4 mile @ 139 mph in stock trim. (1250 cc & 120 hp).

ive answered this somewhere else. my 2006 night rod rev limiter kicks the bike out at 130 mph. I did that for 15 minutes and its not going any faster. im not downing the vrod or putting it up im just telling you the truth. my bike is 120 horse power stock and the normal vrod is 115. also my night rod is a few pounds lighter. I have a mid sport windsheild on it. no bags. I have 10 spoke rims that came with the bike but are considered an option. it was on the showroom floor like this. unless you do something like remove the rev limiter or change the belts sprocket size or whatever (not a mechanic) 130 is the magic number here.
