Which ski is better to get. The RXT or a Yamha FX H.O.

You should get the RXT. I have a 2005 and as an owner I am telling you that you willnot be dissapointed. This machine takes off like a rocket ship and is very stable at any speed. I am not saying that yamaha does not make a good machine but here is something that may help you make your decision, the RXT goes from 0-50 in 3.6 seconds and the FX high output does it in about 5.3 seconds so you can see the advantage of having the supercharger. Believe me you won't be dissapointed with the RXT.

The post above highlighted a very viable advantage of a supercharger. The disadvantage, however, is that they blow out. They can blow at any time, and when they do, you are in trouble. Seadoo's intercooler is insufficient and the supercharger itself is cheap and poorly designed. It will have you sitting in the shop a lot. If you only want speed, seadoo is undeniably the way to go. If you want reliability, stability, handling, and the ability to ride aggresively offshore, then stick with Yamaha.

The trick to keep a supercharger "healthy" is to rev it full throttle when there is no water for the engine to suck up... exampl: on the trailer, and when you are airborn fromwave/wake jumping. because of the superchargers power the it revs stupid-fast if there is no water for resistance and the clutches take a beating that way. manufacturers clutch disks are ceramic and will crack and shatter, while replacement ones are steel
