Not at all have over 500 miles on mine and never had a problem yet. What kind of riding are going to do? THis quad is the best in the trails thus far that i have ever ridden. Its not tippy in the corners rides like sport quad due to the solid rear axle. as far as the belt it only slipped on me once cause i went in way tooo deep. If your looking to give your grandma rides get a independant rear suspension if you want to go fast in the trails get this I have one and my buddy has a brute and i beat him in a drag last weekend cause i added a vdi cdi 400 bucks and you can beat any utility out there even a bomb for 2000 to 3000 less so more money for mods
