| Most of the articles that I have read in motorcycle magazines have been negative on the ZZR1200. Except for the engine, all reviews have been negative.
Can someone please shed some light since I love the way the bike looks.

| I don't know what magazines you are reading but I have never read anything negitive about the ZZR. I have one a 2002 and love it. It is fast, handles very good, looks good. I put on a corbin seat, genmar risers, and a windscreen and I am set. Love the bike.

| I like this bike to. That should come as no suprise since I owned a 1999 ZX11. I like how Kawasaki kept the traditional look of the ol Ninja ZX11. I like the emphasis on wind protection and round gauges. To me it looks like a quality bike. One complaint. I feel Kawasaki could of shaved some weight off the package. 600 pounds wet! Good lord thats a lot! Motorcyclist did a test on the ZZR1200 and they loved it. They were very impressed with the overall quality. Very comfortable and very fast. Something like 145 tire horsepower and 85 pound of torque. The testers were able to get a 10.10 second quarter mile out of it. Another article I read was in a European magazine. They loved it to. Exelent handling for a sport tourer. Great overall motorcycle in there opinion. They chose it over the Honda CBR 1100. Imagine that. I saw another clip where the bike went 185 miles per hour! Thats faster then the ZX11. I nearly bought one. One thing prevented that. The Silver GSX1300R sitting next to it one the show room floor. For $350 more dollars, it was a no brainer. ZZR1200. Cant go wrong there friend. Consider the ZX12R as well. If your really intrested. I will copy the articles and send them to you. Ride safe. Mark Out!

| Farhad, I read the same two articles that Mark read, plus two other ones and all love the machine. You can't go wrong here. The ZZR-1200 was built for the European maket and Kaw deceide to send the bike to the US. Yeah. It's a tough choice, with all the bikes avaiable. Honda ST1300 & CBR1100XX, Kaw ZZR1200 & ZX-1200, Yamaha FJr1400, Suz Hayabusa, Ducati Multi Strada & ST-4. Basically if you go sport you go with the one end of the spectrum, touring the other. I was going with the ZZR-1200, but it does not come with the saddle bags. $1,600 extra! Ouch. I don't know how much touring I'll be doing, so I just might go with the best deal and right now it's a new 2002 ZX-1200 Thunder Blue.

| | if you are interested in this machine go to zzr1200.net and get a login. it's free and has a wealth of info available plus talk to owners. i have a 2003 and it is wonderful. i'm over 50 yrs old so genmar risers and a taller windshield help fit the bike better for me. i had almost gave up on bike riding since i rode a vulcan- nice but boring- but this bike is a whole new life. think corbin seat and bags and you have a top tourer and street fighter all in one package, plus none looks better |
