| I am looking at buying an ATV. I am at a crossroad on which to purchase. I was looking at the Polaris 500 but heard too many horor stories about the belts. I have narrowed it down to the Suzuki Vinson 500 or the Bombardier Outlander 400 HO XT. I know several people who own the Suzuki and I have owned a Suzuki dirt bike in the past, I am just unsertain of the Bombardier except for the greatness told by the salesman. Can you help? Thanks.

| | Two big things seperate these quads. Independant rear suspension and a locking front differential. Outlander has both Suzuki has neither. Suzuki's 500cc air cooled two valve engine is no match for Bombardier's 400cc liquid cooled 4 valve motor. |

| I just recently purchased my bombardier outlander 400 ho 4x4 about a month and half ago. My buddies and I recently got together for a ride and they have a polaris 500 and vinson 500. I could keep up pretty well when running full throttle down fire roads. The only difference is that on steep inclines the extra 100 cc's definately gave them an advantage to power threw it. The outlander definately did really well out on some challenging trails but overall they were even impressed of how well it kept up.

| I own two of each and wouldn't hesitate on either one depending on what you want. The Polairs is a 1 rider machine with an extra 100cc, the Outlander 400HO is a bike built for 2. The Outlander can run with the Sportsman but it's 11 inches longer to make room for the passenger so it can't quite squeeze into some places the Sportsman can go. I really love both machines.
