| looking for some insight. i have my eyes on a 2000 Aero with many extras, low mileage, showroom. I've taken it for a drive, felt a little vibration and seemed a little awkward to me, but I've never had a bigger bike before. would like anyone with experience on this bike to help me with a decision to buy or not. thank you, brother dave

| Dave,
You may want to look for a 2002 Aero if the vibration gets to you. They are a dual crank pin engine like the other Honda 1100 V-twins and are noticeably smoother.
I have a 98 Aero (single crank pin) and it does have a little vibration at certain rpm's. You don't really notice it until your cruising at a steady pace in 5th gear around 50mph. Below or above that it seems to be fairly smooth.
It annoyed me at first. Now I'm used to it and actually in a warped sort of way like it. (no I don't mean that in a perverted way) The Aero is a classic looking V-twin cruiser. The vibration adds a little authenticity to that experience.
It's a great looking, good sounding and very comfortable bike. I love mine. Virtually no maintenance and Honda's legendary reliability. Buy one. I think you'll like it.

| Dave,
I purchased a 1999 Shadow Aero in April of 2002, after not having a motorcycle or even being on one since 1982 (20 years) and I haven't experienced the vibration that others and yourself have mentioned.
I love the bikes "cool" look w/bags, spot lights and windshield and find it to be a very comfortable and enjoyable ride. It is extremely low maintenance and needs little customization.
I highly recommend this bike to anyone looking for a cruiser.

| I do not know what you are looking for in a bike. However, I have a 2001 Areo 1100 that is identical to the picture (same color scheme). I absolutely love it. I owned a 1998 Shadow Spirit before I bought this one. I have a slight vibration but I really don't notice it. I receive alot of compliments on it. It is loaded and I have even added a sound system on it. I would recommend you to buy it. I rode it in the Trail of Tears from Chatt. TN to Watterloo AL this year and enjoyed it all the way. This was the first long ride I have ever done and I was glad I did it on this bike. I don't believe you would regret making this investment.
