2004 Polaris Sportsman 500 H.O.Expand / Collapse

I bought a 2004.5 700 twin and I have a metal on metal sound when I first give it gas, is anyone eles having the same sound. I talked to my dealer and he said that was normal.

we bought a polaris 500 sportsman ho 2004.5 and we have the same sounds. my neigbor has one aswell and he experiences the same thing.

mine does it some times
it would help if you rev it up a little bit in neatrul before shifting into high or low gear then it wont do itn as much

No, it's not normal. The gear box has a hex set screw for this adjustment. See your dealer and ask him about it. My dealer didn't know about it until I bothered him so much he had to call Polaris.
